Batch Granulation Line

Definition
Granulation is the process of collecting particles together by creating bonds between them. Bonds are formed by using bonding Agent or by compression.

Granulation in Pharma Industry is of two types:

• Wet Granulation
• Dry Granulation

Fields of application
In the pharmaceutical Industry, most of the products are manufactured using wet granulation process. Wet granulation offers a wide range of capabilities for forming granules, from the production of light granules to the production of very dense granules.

A tablet with good characteristics is not made on tablet press; it is made in the granulation process. The granulation process is required for:
• To improve flow & compression Characteristics
• To reduce segregation
• Improve continent uniformity
• Achieve Dust free product

Resulting in
• Improved yield
• Reduced Tablet defect
• Increased productivity
